I’m a hobbyist photographer from Melbourne, Australia. Picking up a camera was a difficult decision for me, because I’ve spend most of my career around creatives - and the dedication and sheer talent of some of them is in equal measure inspiring and intimidating. So out of fear of embarrassing myself I guess, I abstained for a long time, until recently I said “Screw it; why not”.

Even as a hobbyist, these days there’s an expectation to create and refine a personal style. Mine is very much still evolving, but I am constantly intrigued and inspired to find an alternate viewpoint of things we take for granted or wouldn’t look at twice; “the overlooked ordinary” as Saul Leiter put it. And for street and architecture photography (my two main interests) Melbourne is a great city to roam.
